| Most
Language Arts notebooks contain spelling, handwriting, narration,
dictation, grammar and reading lists.
Handwriting
- Sample
lettering can be provided with notebook paper for practicing.
Phonics
- Rules can be written when studied along with a list of words
that go along with that rule.
Spelling
-
Word lists not only provide practice in spelling but also
handwriting and practice in phonics rules. Keep words studied
and words that have been missed in other subjects in the Language
notebook.
Copy
work - The
language notebook is a great storage place for special copy
work that has been done. Poems, classics and Biblical passages
are great for copying.
Grammar
and Composition
- As rules are learned they are entered in the notebook. As
the child progresses over time the notebook becomes his own
handbook. Saving compositions will show how the child has
progressed with his writing over time.
Reading
- Keep track of books read and book reports more easily in
a literature section of the language notebook. Check out the
book report forms available below.
